INDEPENDENT. OPEN. UNCOMPRIMISING
TLIR exists to make complex ideas usable in the real world. We study how people think, influence, and behave, then turn those insights into practical frameworks that help individuals, organisations, and communities function better. Our mission is to produce work that is honest, evidence-aware, and relevant. We focus on clarity, rigour, and the kind of research that leads to actual change instead of empty theory.
Avery Daniels
"TLIR is one of the most exciting research movements I’ve seen in years. It brings young thinkers together across disciplines and turns complex ideas into something powerful, clear, and accessible. This initiative is going to redefine how South Africans engage with knowledge."
Thando Maseko
"The vision behind TLIR is remarkable. It’s rare to find a platform where research, culture, creativity, and social insight meet so naturally. TLIR feels fresh, fearless, and genuinely meaningful for the next generation."
Michael Hartman
"TLIR represents innovation at its best. The institute has the courage to tackle complicated national issues and make them understandable to the public. It’s a bold, thoughtful idea — and exactly what South Africa needs right now."
